On March 8, 2021, the Logansport School board of trustees passed a resolution opposing the establishment of education scholarship accounts and the expansion of the Indiana school choice scholarship program.
90% of students in Indiana attend public schools; however, the proposed legislation plans to take away tens of millions of dollars from Indiana public schools. Public school funding has continuously decreased over the last decade. Taking away more funding will affect the quality of public school academics, extracurricular activities, facilities, and staff.
Our administrators, educators, and support staff have spoken out against this bill and participated in Red for Ed days, a Blackout for Ed day, and most recently, a march for public education opposing the proposed legislation.
There is power in numbers and we need your help. Make your voice heard regarding this troubling legislation. Find your legislators and let them know you do not support Indiana House Bill 1005, Indiana Senate Bill 412, and Indiana Senate Bill 413. Tell your legislators that you want public school funding prioritized in the state budget House Bill 1001.
